Does your child stare into space during study time?
After work, you have to juggle with dinner, house chores and your children. You have already instructed your children to finish up their homework or additional revision but they just stare into the space.
Even if you tried explaining to them, it helps them to get good result, a good job and earn more money. They, as a child, cannot relate to it and do not understand. (Well, my parents did tried that but I could not relate at that point of time thus it did not motivate me.)
You must be wondering why they could not understand a simple instruction or our explanation.
We, as an adult, have totally missed out looking from a child's perspective.
A student once asked:
"Why do we need to learn this?"
"Why is it so important to achieve a good result?"
Children do not understand why they have to learn languages, Mathematics and Science in school.
We have to bring ourselves to a children level when we are explaining the reasons behind.
For example, the reason why we need to learn language is because it helps us to communicate and understand each other quickly. Can you imagine you want to tell mummy that you are looking for toilet but all you can do is making gestures?
It is necessary to use simple words and relatable example so your child can understand the message you are passing across.
